Planning for the seasons (our tentative calendar)

I am brainstorming about what to offer in the furniture store and in the etsy store month by month.   This is mostly for small items, larger items and my favorite thing... chairs, will still be the main focus.

Here are my ideas, (do you agree? disagree?)

HER Store (at the furniture and antiques store booth)

March 15- Small amount of Easter items

  • I have some painted tin pails and seed packets ready to go.  Perhaps I should pick up some little  yard tools at the dollar store. This could be a great $10 impulse buy.

April- June- Wedding items. (These light, bright items should also be good for summer)

  • I am thinking candlesticks galore... painted white, or clear glass.
  • a couple bouquets for booth decor
  • bride/groom signs, which I can paint
  • Stacks of simple plates for table settings
  • pull my romantic vintage postcards to the front, maybe put them in frames
  • oh, and white frames.
Mid June - Mid July - Americana
  • Red, white, and blue
Mid July-Mid August - back to college/school
  • Dorm portable headboards for girls
  • baskets
  • trunks
  • cool items students can transport stuff in, and will make great decor
August-October- Fall colors
  • squeeze in Halloween and Thanksgiving before it's too late
Mid October-December
  • Holiday stuff... put up 2 trees and load them down with ornaments.
  • Wreaths
First of the year - Clean slate
  • Same as now, clear out all left over stuff and add neutrals.
Etsy Store- Ripped Seams

Now: March- May - base inventory
  • Upload vintage costumes we have collected
May-July
  • Upload up cycled clothing items and costumes
  • Make wedding veils from old wedding dresses
August - October
  • Focus on Halloween
Nov- December
  • specialty holiday items.

Welcome

Ripped Seams is a family affair; a mother-daughter enterprise. When we are not creating costumes for community theatre or college theatre (daughter), we are combing the thrift stores for interesting clothing items we can transform.

Between the two of us, we have costumed a dozen shows in the last few years, and have also frantically made several cosplay outfits for our own amusement.

Stay tuned for one of a kind clothing and costumes made from thrift store finds. Items will be posted in blog format with the price and a purchase button.  the button will be removed and marked "sold" as they are purchased.

We apologize for not having items available for Halloween, but we will post useful articles for you. We are both finishing respective shows at the moment, but check back in November 2015 as we start posting items on sale for Christmas.

Thank You and Welcome!
